De lugubere Beierse landheer annex vampier Dr. Ravna lokt de jonge Marianne en haar minnaar Gerald Harcourt naar zijn kasteel. Het blijkt helaas dat Dr. Ravna de leider is van een vampierensekte en bovendien een zwak heeft voor de schoonheid van Marianne.
