Verhaal over de New Yorkse hiphopscene en in het bijzonder over de fascinatie van blanke, rijke kinderen voor dit wereldje wat zij als 'cool' beschouwen. Het appartement van één van de grootste zakenlui in de hiphopwereld fungeert als het decor van allerlei mensen die hip willen zijn en een filmmaakster die het fenomeen tussen de subcultuur en de blanke jeugd wil onderzoeken. Dit tegen de achtergrond van een aantal illegale praktijken, vriendschappen en liefdes.
