Bij de jonge Emannuel thuis is er nauwelijks genoeg geld om eten te kopen en het leven is dan ook een dagelijkse worsteling. Bovendien wordt hij bedreigd en gepest. Maar op zekere dag ontdekt hij dat hij talent heeft om te boksen. Om aan de armoede thuis te ontsnappen besluit Emmanuel alle risico's te nemen om als bokser in zijn levensonderhoud te voorzien.
