In de nabije toekomst ontdekken twee jonge zussen, die samen met hun familie in een afgelegen bos wonen, dat de wereld om hen heen op de rand van een apocalyps staat. Enkel gevoed door geruchten moeten ze afrekenen met indringers, ziekte, eenzaamheid en uithongering. Deze beproeving zal hen van hulpeloze maar verfijnde jonge dames omvormen tot sterke maar volledig primitieve wezens.
