Mia Medina heeft eindelijk het perfecte onderwerp gevonden voor haar proefschrift: een film over de ziekte Alzheimer. Voor de komende maanden zullen camera's het dagelijkse leven vastleggen van moeder Deborah Logan en haar dochter Sarah. Maar naarmate de dagen vorderen beginnen er vreemde dingen te gebeuren rond Deborah die niet consistent zijn met de bevindingen over Alzheimer. Het wordt duidelijk dat er nog iets anders is dat de controle heeft over Deborah's leven.
