Chili in de jaren vijftig. Weduwe Nicolasa woont met haar drie zoons in een afgelegen boerderij in de bergen, zonder elektriciteit of moderne voorzieningen. Nicolasa is het eenzame leven zat en besluit haar zuster Rebeca in de stad te bezoeken die ze al twintig jaar niet gezien heeft. Doel is ook om haar zoons het leven in de stad te laten kennen, zodat ze een vrouw kunnen vinden om mee te trouwen. Wat Nicolasa niet weet is dat haar zuster een bordeel runt, waar haar zonen zich binnen de kortste keren opperbest vermaken.
