Leerling-verpleegkundigen gaan samen met enkele artsen werken in een medische post op een paar uur vliegen van de Mexicaanse stad Catamaco. Een van hun vliegtuigen stort neer door een motorstoring en stort neer in het regenwoud. Dit is het verhaal van de pogingen om het leven van de passagiers (zowel verpleegkundigen als artsen) te redden.
