Met zijn bende handelt Gary al sinds zijn 13e illegaal in tickets voor sportwedstrijden, concerten en andere evenementen in New York. De bendeleden kijken erg op naar Gary, wiens gladde praatjes en snelle denkvermogen hen buiten het bereik van de politie houden. Zijn vriendin Linda had echter schoon genoeg van zijn onverantwoord gedrag, en heeft hem verlaten. Wanneer zij toegelaten wordt tot een vermaarde culinaire hogeschool in Parijs, beseft Gary dat hij alles op alles zal moeten zetten als hij Linda nog terug wil.
