De weduwe van een failliete zakenman probeert, om het geld van de verzekering te kunnen innen, diens zelfmoord voor moord te laten doorgaan en palmt een jonge bohemien in die de schuld moet krijgen. Als hij de opzet doorkrijgt, doodt hij haar in woede en wordt voor twee moorden gearresteerd.
