Genevieve, een studente uit Parijs, komt via een uitwisselingsproject naar een high school in Texas en logeert gedurende het project bij Starla. In eerste instantie lijkt Genevieve een beetje een vis op het droge, maar ze went snel aan haar nieuwe leven. Sterker nog: het leven van Starla bevalt haar zo goed, dat ze het praktisch helemaal overneemt.
