Steve Patrick is een boer uit Wyoming, die met zijn voorman Bob Andrews naar Oregon reist om fokstieren te kopen om vee te fokken, die tegen de strenge winters in Wyoming bestand zijn. Wat Steve niet weet is, dat hij het doelwit is van een complot, gesmeed door zijn voorman Andrews, de outlaw Maddox en de corrupte zakenman Joe Graycoe, om hem te doden en vervolgens zijn vee te stelen.
