Plot

Een jonge priester, pater Chisholm, wordt naar China gestuurd om een katholieke parochie te stichten onder de niet-christelijke Chinezen. Terwijl zijn jeugdvriend, ook priester, bloeit in zijn roeping als priester in een meer christelijk deel van de wereld, worstelt pater Chisholm.
