Tussen de wolkenkrabbers die haar bescheiden huis in Kuala Lumpur omringen, droomt Mirah van de toekomst. Ze wil rapper worden – een droom die uitkomt na haar eerste succesvolle optreden. Mirahs hiphopsterrenstatus lijkt te zijn voorbeschikt, tot ongenoegen van haar dove vader Salihin. Hij is ervan overtuigd dat de muziek zijn dochter van hem zal vervreemden, net als bij hem en zijn zingende vader gebeurde.
