Terwijl het wereldkampioenschap voetbal in 1998 in Frankrijk in volle gang is arriveren twee Tibetaanse vluchtelingen in een boeddhistisch klooster in India. Daar zullen zij worden onderwezen in de boeddhistische leer maar de voetbalkoorts reikt zelfs tot India en zorgt ervoor dat het studeren niet helemaal volgens plan verloopt.
