Twee Ieren vluchten in 1988 uit Belfast na een gewelddadige confrontatie met een IRA-leider. Ze verblijven illegaal in Australië, proberen wat geld te verdienen en trachten uit handen van de immigratiepolitie te blijven. Dan wordt de IRA-leider in het kader van een getuigenbeschermingsprogramma naar Australië overgebracht.
