Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog strandt een groep van tien overlevenden uit Madras op de oceaan in een kleine boot. Het schip zinkt halverwege de reis. De passagiers worden gedwongen om een aantal drastische maatregelen te nemen om zichzelf te redden.
