Erik is een jonge talentvolle sportjournalist die op een dag een dakloze man weet te redden. Deze dakloze blijkt echter Champ te zijn, een bokslegende van wie iedereen dacht dat hij was overleden. Erik ziet zijn kans schoon om het echte verhaal over de Champ te schrijven wat tevens leidt tot een persoonlijke reflectie op zijn eigen leven.
