Als Adela de uitvaart van haar hartsvriendin Elena bezoekt voelt ze zich nauwelijks verbonden met de anderen die afscheid nemen. De gedempte stemmen, het kille tl-licht, niets doet haar denken aan de vreugde die Elena verspreidde. Emotioneel uitgeput gaat Adela op zoek naar haar auto, om even later in mysterieuze bus te stappen die haar terugvoert in de tijd, naar een weekend dat ze ooit doorbracht in een strandhuis, samen met de levendige en grappige Elena. De twee deelden hun hartstochtelijke hobby – detectives lezen – fietsten en gingen de hele nacht dansen.
