Alain voedt zijn dove zoon Milano alleen op en wil hem een beter leven geven dan hij zelf ooit heeft gehad. Ondanks de beste bedoelingen worden zijn onmacht en falen zichtbaar. De vader-zoonrelatie komt onder druk te staan wanneer Milano zijn biologische moeder wil ontmoeten.
