De regisseur Bobby Bowfinger heeft eindelijk z'n handen weten te leggen op het "perfecte" script. Hij huurt een ambitieuze jonge actrice en een crew van illegalen in, en mist eigenlijk nog maar één ding: de grote ster Kit Ramsey. Die wil de rol echter niet, en dus zit er maar één ding op voor de crew: Kit in het geheim filmen, en verder zijn nerdy look-alike broer gebruiken.
Nee, helaas is Bowfinger nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
