Een groep jonge filmmakers, onder leiding van de beginnende producer Alex Romero, gaat op locatieverkenning op het platteland van Pennsylvania. Diep in het achterland wordt al snel duidelijk dat ze op een familie weerwolven zijn gestuit en nu de nacht moeten overleven.
