Eladio werkt als bewaker op een ranch en verliest zijn zoon, genaamd Floren, bij een jachtongeluk. Eladio wordt geconfronteerd met een tweede tragedie als zijn vrouw zich ophangt, omdat ze het verlies van haar zoon niet kon verwerken. Eladio, die zich schuldig voelt en tevens woedend is, gaat de confrontatie aan met de man die volgens hem de oorzaak van al het leed is: de jachtopzichter Don Carlos. Maar heeft Eladio het wel bij het rechte eind?
