Documentaire over het leven en de carrière van schrijver, acteur en regisseur Kevin Smith. Door middel van interviews met familie, producenten en vaste acteurs als Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Joey Lauren Adams, Justin Long en Jason Mewes zien we hoe Smith furore maakt op het Sundance Film Festival in de jaren '90 en hoe hij door de jaren heen een fanbase heeft weten op te bouwen. Van zijn flops tot aan zijn bijna fatale hartstilstand in 2018, waarna hij besluit om nog één keer groots uit te pakken met 'Jay and Silent Bob Reboot'.
