Wanhoop dreef Sibil en Rob Richardson in 1997 tot een bankoverval, niet ver van een locatie waar ooit Bonnie en Clyde actief waren. Het leverde hun de bedenkelijke bijnaam ‘the black Bonnie and Clyde’ op. Iets meer dan vijfduizend dollar bedroeg de buit. Sibil moest er vijf jaar voor zitten, maar Rob werd tot zestig jaar veroordeeld. Toen Sibil na drie jaar vrijkwam, hield ze zich meer dan staande. Ze voedde haar zes zonen in haar eentje op en ontwikkelde zich – als Fox Rich – tot succesvol ondernemer, retorisch kanon en woordvoerder van de zwarte gemeenschap.
