Meer dan 1600 mensen zijn op mysterieuze wijze verdwenen in nationale parken en bossen in de hele Verenigde Staten. Een groep vrienden staat op het punt het wezen te ontmoeten dat daarvoor verantwoordelijk is. Broers Brad en Mike zijn samen met hun vriend Dennis de makers van een amateurserie waarvan ze hopen dat die hen naar het internetsterrendom zal leiden. Wanneer Hope, een oude vriendin van Dennis, de kleine hut van haar familie aanbiedt in de Rocky Mountains, grijpen ze de kans om de locatie te gebruiken voor een aflevering. Maar als ze dieper de bergen in trekken om te filmen, wordt het duidelijk dat iets hen volgt en dat het hen niet zal laten vertrekken.
