Nadat een Amerikaanse backpacker vermist raakt in Europa, besluit een groep journalisten een mogelijk verband te onderzoeken met een dorp in Polen, genaamd Alwainia. Ze ontdekken dat het dorp een bizarre geschiedenis van menselijke offeringen schijnt te hebben. Om de waarheid boven tafel te krijgen besluiten ze naar Polen te gaan. Ze komen er echter al snel achter dat een mysterieuze groep het op hen gemunt heeft en de reis betekent een strijd op leven en dood.
Nee, helaas is The Shrine nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
