'Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood' is het verhaal van Scotty Bowers, een knappe ex-marinier die na de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Hollywood is beland. Hij werd de vertrouweling, adjudant en geliefde van vele van de grootste mannelijke en vrouwelijke sterren van Hollywood. In de jaren 40 en 50 baatte Scotty in de schaduw van de studio een benzinestation uit waar hij zijn vrienden in contact zou brengen met acteurs en actrices die hun ware seksuele identiteit moesten verbergen uit angst voor politie-invallen in homobars, sociaal gemeden te worden of uit vrees van het einde van hun carrière.
Nee, helaas is Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
