De voormalige Engelse voetbalvedette David Beckham gaat als UNICEF-ambassadeur een bijzondere uitdaging aan: een voetbalwedstrijd spelen op de zeven continenten in minder dan tien dagen. Hij ontdekt telkens weer wat voetbal betekent voor het leven van de mensen die hij ontmoet, maar ook hoe voetbal mensen over de hele wereld inspireert en met elkaar verbindt. Hij reist naar Papoea-Nieuw-Guinea, Nepal en Djibouti, gaat naar de krottenwijken van Buenos Aires, zet voet aan land op het ijzige Antarctica en speelt met een vrouwenteam in Miami, voor hij terugkeert naar Manchester voor de UNICEF-benefietwedstrijd, met niemand minder dan sir Alex Ferguson als manager.
