De documentaire focust zich op de carrières en werken van een collectieve groep kunstenaars die in de begin jaren '90 een beweging begonnen in de kunstwereld gebaseerd op de D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) mentaliteit. Hierbij werden ze onder andere beïnvloedt door graffiti en skateboarden en de toenmalige ondergrondse muziek zoals punk rock en hip hop. In een reeks interviews leggen deze artiesten uit wat hun redenen waren achter de 'do-it-yourself'-stijl van straatkunst. Hierbij komen onder andere Thomas Campbell, Cheryl Dunn, Shepard Fairey, Harmony Korine, Geoff McFetridge, Barry McGee, Margaret Kilgallen, Mike Mills, Steven "Espo" Powers, Aaron Rose, Ed Templeton en Deanna Templeton aan het woord.
