Een lange documentaire die de immense veranderingen verkent die plaatsvonden voor homo's, lesbiennes en transgenders in het Zuiden. In het laatste decennium van de 20e eeuw begon een nieuwe, verhoogde zichtbaarheid zich over de ontwikkelingslanden te verspreiden en waren de gevechten tussen gezinnen, fundamentalistische religies en regeringen rond seksuele en genderidentiteit begonnen. Maar in het Westen wisten maar weinig mensen van deze historische sociale onrust, totdat 52 mannen in de Queen Boat-discotheek in Caïro werden gearresteerd wegens misdaden van losbandigheid. Dat explosieve verhaal vestigde de aandacht op de levens en beproevingen van homoseksuele mensen die uit de kast komen in de ontwikkelingslanden, en de film beschrijft die gebeurtenissen.
